The men’s and women’s sunglass styles are available now online and launched to retail in limited release through Kaenon’s premium dealer network, including 20 southwest Nordstrom locations.

The initial Holiday 2009 release will make each style available in a rich, gloss black frame with the company’s patented SR-91 polarized lens in Grey 12™ as well as a new frame color the company calls Havana – a beautiful tobacco brown accented by deep, dark rich tones. Each frame is hand painted and assembled in Italy following Kaenon’s creative direction and strict quality control. Joss will offer Havana with Copper 12™ SR-91 polarized lenses, while Burnet and Pino will house G12 lenses in Havana. Each frame is Rx adaptable with Kaenon’s SR-91 prescription lenses – in Single Vision or Freestyle™ Progressive.
PINO
Simple, clean, and stylish, PINO is a modern, west coast take of a 50’s-period classic to be worn by both men and women looking for a moderately sized fun, yet functional sunglass. Designed in California, made in Italy, Pino’s injection molded TR-90 8-base wrapped frame is pure Luxury Performance. Old school styling with low-key Kaenon branding engraved on a decorative metal inlay, all defy Pino’s light weight, performance fit. Only further enhanced by our patented SR-91 polarized lenses that provide unsurpassed razor sharp optical clarity and glare reduction. Pino comes with a protective metal case and is Rx adaptable. MSRP begins at $229.
BURNET
BURNET is a subtle reshaping and condensed interpretation of our popular, retro-inspired Burny™ frame style. Designed to be worn by both women and men equally, it’s a timeless, classic design that features subtle, yet distinctive styling with the performance and comfort Kaenon Polarized is known for. Easy to wear for a wide variety of face shapes, and featuring a throw-back temple design highlighted by discrete branding and logo detailing in a pure metal inlay, this durable, performance-wrapped TR-90 frame houses 8-base SR-91 polarized lenses for razor sharp optical clarity and unsurpassed glare reduction. Joss is distinguished by a slightly oversized round lens shape, enhanced by supple, curvy surfaces that taper aft into thin sleek temples that support our female-fit geometry. Made in Italy using TR-90 frame material, Joss is light weight, durable and super comfy, with buried Variflex nose pads for additional comfort and security that come standard as do the wrapped 8-base SR-91 polarized lenses for maximum protection with unsurpassed razor sharp optical clarity and glare reduction. No other lens on the market offers better clarity, impact protection, and glare reduction, all in one ultra-lightweight lens. Every SR-91 polarized lens carries a Lifetime Guarantee against delamination, cracking or splitting – including Kaenon Polarized prescription sunglasses made from SR-91 prescription polarized lenses.
With an initial 20+-store launch that started in July, Nordstrom will sell all three new Kaenon Polarized sunglass styles in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii – including its four flagship locations at South Coast Plaza, Fashion Valley Mall, The Grove and Scottsdale. Including Nordstrom in this initial Holiday launch of Burnet, Pino and Joss, demonstrates the success both companies have enjoyed since partnering in July – with sales of Kaenon Polarized sunglasses out-performing Nordstrom expectations.
“Nordstrom has always been the first to recognize true leadership and trend direction in fashion and sensibility, and we’re very excited they’ve shown such confidence in Kaenon Polarized to once again demonstrate their knack for quality product and ability to differentiate themselves with distinctive brands,” said Steve Rosenberg, Co-Founder and CEO of Kaenon Polarized. “Nordstrom not only understands the trends, they have exceptional insight behind the product that drives those trends,” he added.

Stewards of First AME Church of Los Angeles Disclose That the Church Called Los Angeles Police after Brenda Lamothe Threatened a Lawsuit

The Steward Board of First AME Church of Los Angeles said today that Los
Angeles police were called when Church leaders first learned that
private, personal communications between Pastor John Hunter and Mrs.
Denise Hunter had been unlawfully taken.
“They immediately called the Los Angeles Police Department, and they
have been cooperating fully with them since that time,” said Robert W.
Brockman, Jr., the attorney for the First AME Church and the Hunters.
“Late last week, the police gave us permission to say that we had filed
a police report and that an investigation was ongoing.”
Mrs. Constance Fortune, a member of the Church Executive Committee and
Chairperson of the Church’s Board of Trustees #2, said the Executive
Committee first learned that the Hunters’ personal, private
communications had been unlawfully taken when an attorney for Mrs.
Brenda Lamothe showed copies to Mr. Brockman, claimed that the
communications had been sent by Pastor Hunter to Mrs. Lamothe and
demanded a monetary settlement on behalf of Mrs. Lamothe.
“When Pastor and Mrs. Hunter identified these as their own personal
communications as husband and wife, we knew immediately what we had to
do. We called the police,” Mrs. Fortune said. “This was before Mrs.
Lamothe filed her lawsuit and before she started having press
conferences.”
Mrs. Fortune said that Mrs. Lamothe first threatened a lawsuit the week
before the Southern California Conference of the African Methodist
Episcopal Church held from October 25 to November 1 at the Sheraton
Gateway Hotel. The conference of pastors, clergy and lay people from all
district churches is held annually to review each church’s annual
report, all leading up to the appointment of pastors.
“This was obviously timed to interfere with the conference and the
anticipated reappointment of Pastor John to the pastoral charge at FAME
Los Angeles,” Mrs. Fortune said, noting that at that time Bishop Larry
T. Kirkland, Sr., was expected to reappoint Pastor Hunter to the Los
Angeles Church.
Even though he had previously been made aware of Mrs. Lamothe’s
allegations, Bishop Kirkland did reappoint Pastor Hunter to the Los
Angeles Church, she said.
“If she had these letters and communications all along, why did she wait
until more than a year after she resigned to threaten to file a
lawsuit?” Mrs. Fortune said. “She came forward the week before the
conference. We felt we had to file suit to put a stop to this malicious
attack on the Church and on the Hunters’ relationship with the Church.”
The Church and the Hunters are the plaintiffs in their own lawsuit (FAME,
et al. v. Lamothe – LASC Case No.: LC087455), which was filed
in Superior Court in Los Angeles on November 3 against Mrs. Lamothe. The
lawsuit alleges the conversion of the Hunters’ personal property,
infliction of emotional distress, intentional interference with the
Hunters’ relationship with the Church and conspiracy.
Mrs. Fortune issued a statement last week on behalf of the leadership of
the Church in which she said: “We support the Hunters 100% and we do not
for one moment believe the outrageous allegations in the lawsuit filed
by Brenda Lamothe. We see Mrs. Lamothe’s lawsuit as nothing more than an
attempt to damage the pastor’s reputation in the community, and damage
his relationship with the Church.”
Last week the Stewards also released a copy of Mrs. Lamothe’s glowing
September 10, 2008 resignation letter praising Pastor Hunter and the
Church. The resignation letter is dated 10 months before the date Mrs.
Lamothe claims in her lawsuit that she was f

PORTRAITS REVEAL STORIES BEHIND VIETNAM VETERAN EXPERIENCES

They wear bits of their old uniforms, hats and medals. Those still in youthful trim are able to button their jackets. Some hold photos or mementos that reflect their service: Rev. Ray Stubbe ( Wauwatosa ), a Navy chaplain who was at the Siege of Khe Sanh, holds a crucifix.

Nearly 30 photos of these veterans make up an exhibit at the Chazen Museum of Art, Back in the World: Portraits of Wisconsin Vietnam Veterans. The exhibit features large-format color portraits of Vietnam veterans from Wisconsin along with excerpts of interviews from a three-hour documentary being produced by Wisconsin Public Television. The exhibit represents a partnership among WPT, the Wisconsin Veterans Museum and the Chazen.

The documentary is part of WPTs Wisconsin Stories project, which has produced award-winning documentaries about Wisconsin veterans experiences in World War II, Korea and now, Vietnam. It is scheduled to air in May. James Gill, staff photographer at WPT, took the portraits as part of the documentary project.

Gills photos provide insight into the veterans memories and experiences, which they carry long after coming back to the world. Portraits can tell stories when people put their masks down and stop being protective. Some [of these veterans] were open, some were not. I didnt ask them not to smile, but most of them didnt, says Gill. The way they stood and what they wore also gives insight into their personality.

The photos are large, 30-by-40 inches, and are mounted on acrylic without frames. The photos are pretty arresting because of their size, says Gill. Not having a frame removes some of that distance you can get in a gallery and makes them more intimate and immediate.

The scale and presence of the images, combined with the interview snippets, deliver a powerful experience with relevance for the right-now. I hope people will glimpse into the Vietnam veteran experience. This war is not widely talked about, and they feel their experiences have been minimalized. World War II was the good war, right? These people also know that soldiers are returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with the same issues and problems they faced, says Gill. One veteran said it best: We do a good job at war, not such a good job at peace.

On Wednesday, Nov. 11 ( Veterans Day ), the Chazen will host a reception and panel discussion with some of the veterans featured in the exhibit and the documentary. The panelists are George Banda ( Milwaukee ) combat medic, 101st Airborne Division; Bruce Jensen ( West Allis ), gunners mate, USS Stone County, Mobile Riverine Force; James Kurtz ( Middleton ), platoon leader, 1st Infantry Division; Rev. Ray Stubbe ( Wauwatosa ), Navy chaplain, Siege of Khe Sanh; and Willie Williams ( De Forest ), staff sergeant, 25th Infantry Division. Mik Derks, producer of the documentary, will moderate the panel, which begins at 6 p.m.; Gill will provide opening remarks. The reception begins at 7 p.m. Gill will also give a gallery talk on his work in the exhibition at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, also at the Chazen, 800 University Ave.

The exhibition will be on view until Jan. 3. It will then travel to La Crosse and Superior before heading to Green Bays Lambeau Field May 21-23 as part of LZ Lambeau Weekend, a celebration for the states Vietnam veterans. The event includes concerts, reunions, a memorial ceremony, exhibits and screenings of excerpts from the WPT documentary.

Gill photographed the veterans profiled in the previous Wisconsin Stories productions, but says this group was different. Many of these veterans are still angry at the way they were treated when they returned. For me, working with them was a wonderful educational process, Gill says. There is no one stereotypical Vietnam vet. Some are now working for peace; others feel the war was the right thing to do. But, man, woman, black, white, Hispanic, they all share the brotherhood of the conflict.

More information on the exhibit along with museum information is available at http://chazen.wisc.edu/. Details on the documentary and all of WPTs Wisconsin Stories projects are available at http://www.wisconsinstories.org. More information on LZ Lambeau Weekend is available at http://www.lzlambeau.org.

CRISIL Equities assigns Fundamental grade ’3/5′ to UTV Software Communications Ltd.

This grade indicates that the fundamentals of the company are ‘Good’ relative to other listed equity securities in India.

November 3, 2009 /India PRwire/ — CRISIL Equities has assigned a CRISIL IER Fundamental Grade “3/5″ (pronounced “three on five”) to UTV Software Communications Ltd. (UTV). This grade indicates that the fundamentals of the company are ‘Good’ relative to other listed equity securities in India. With respect to valuations, CRISIL Equities has assigned a valuation grade of “5/5” indicating that the stock has ‘Strong Potential Upside’ (Fundamental value of Rs 548, from the current market price of Rs 420. The grades are not a recommendation to buy/sell or hold the graded instrument, or a comment on the graded instrument’s future market price or its suitability for a particular investor.

The assigned fundamental grading reflects UTV’s position as the market leader in the Hindi films business, its diversified revenue mix, strong management capability and expected improvement in profitability as its investments in the gaming and television broadcasting businesses begin to pay off. UTV’s comprehensive business model has enabled it to rope in Walt Disney as a strategic partner with a 60% stake (Walt Disney’s voting rights are capped at 32.1% for a period of 4 years ending November 2012). CRISIL Equities believes this association with Walt Disney is a positive factor from a strategic perspective and will also provide it access to overseas markets. The grading is, however, tempered by the inherent risks associated with the films business, such as project execution risk and susceptibility to changing audience tastes and preferences, and uncertainty of success in the games development business.

CRISIL Equities expects UTV to display robust revenue growth of 37% CAGR over the next 3 years to touch Rs 15.7 billion by FY12 on the back of strong growth in the films business, the broadcasting segment gaining traction, and the planned release of 3 large Intellectual Properties in the console games development business. With investments beginning to generate returns and content being effectively monetised across various media platforms, CRISIL Equities expect UTV’s profitability to improve. The EBIT margin of the company is expected to improve markedly from negative 15% in FY09 to around 17% in FY12. Driven by higher profitability, CRISIL Equities expects Earnings per share (EPS) to jump to Rs 53 in FY12 after a 47% slump to Rs 7.2 in FY10.

UTV’s return on capital has been adversely impacted by investments made in the television broadcasting and gaming businesses (Rs 7 billion as of March 2009). During FY09, its return on equity (RoE) was 6.8%. CRISIL Equities believe it will take another 12-18 months for investments made in these businesses to pay off. Consequently, UTV’s RoE is projected to improve significantly only after FY11 and touch 16% by FY12.

On the valuation grading, CRISIL Equities has used Sum of the Parts (SOTP) approach to arrive at the fundamental value for UTV. Based on the SOTP method, the fundamental value for UTV is estimated at Rs 548 which translates into a valuation grade of “5/5” indicating that the stock has ‘Strong Potential Upside’ from the market price of Rs 420 (as on October 30, 2009)
