NewsX’s weeklong programming initiative for the 26/11 attacks, Days of Courage, struck a very strong cord with viewers. The channel’s special programme, The Kasab Confession, was the highest watched programme on 26th November among all the English news channels (Source: TAM report Wk 48: CS 25+, SEC AB, 6 Metro).
NewsX also roped in adman and lyricist, Prasoon Joshi, to create a tribute to the event. Joshi’s recital was played across FM stations and television channels through the 26/11 weekend.
NewsX also enjoys a great following on the internet. The NewsX page on YouTube was the most viewed page among all the Indian English news channels on 26th November.

Commenting on the programming, Jehangir S Pocha, co-promoter, NewsX said, “Viewers rewarded our decision to focus on the courage of ordinary citizens and the city of Mumbai during the 26/11 anniversary. We spend 364 days a year talking about failures and problems and we wanted to spend this one day focusing on the human aspect of the attacks. Prasoon’s poignant poem captured this perfectly and I hope it becomes an anthem for the strength India can display in the face of tragedy.”
NewsX’s special programming often stands out despite the clutter on news channels. The channel’s Independence Day special, The Midnight Nations, its World Environment Day special, and its Child Labour campaign, are some of the initiatives that have enjoyed widespread public acceptance and critical acclaim for their editorial quality and fresh content.
