The Frost & Sullivan Voice of the Customer Award for Best Logistics Provider is bestowed upon the company that has demonstrated excellence in logistics services. The recipient of this award is chosen on the basis of achieving highest ratings from customers for its performance on the chosen key performance parameters that have high significance for logistics service users. Through primary research with key logistics end users (manufacturers) in the FMCG sector, each parameter’s importance as per end users is attained and appropriate weights are assigned to indicate their importance. Top three logistics providers nominated by each end user are rated by the respective nominators for their performance on each parameter. The LSPs attaining the highest ratings for maximum parameters are considered as candidates for this award. Then the ratings attained for each parameter by these logistics providers are evaluated against the respective importance ratings and the weights assigned to the parameter to attain final scores. The LSP with highest final score is adjudged as the award winner.

The FMCG products distribution needs to reach every nook and corner of the country and is characterized by multiple SKU’s and product proliferation. Inability in ensuring consistent availability of stock on shelf by a company through appropriate fill rate could result in loss of its market share. Apart from having a strong primary distribution network, effective secondary distribution is a critical part of the delivery mechanism for companies in this market place. Not only do the logistic service providers require penetration and spread of transportation network and end mile connectivity, the LSPs need to cater to a highly time critical market place. VRL Logistics has established its presence across the 2000 locations in India and provides superb end mile transportation through it fleet of over 2600 vehicles.
