Rajya Sabha member, Shri KD Singh has been appointed by TMC Chief Mamta Banerjee as observer for the States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Tripura and Jharkhand

January 28, 2011 /India PRwire/ — Mamata Bannerjee has appointed Mr KD Singh ‘Observer’ for the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Tripura and Jharkhand. Mr Singh is a Rajya Sabha member who will now be taking on the observer status for the Trinamool Congress in the states mentioned.

On his appointment, Mr Singh says, “As an observer, apart from the expected role of overseeing party affairs, electoral candidates and code of conduct, my aim is to extend the presence of the TMC in these states. Since I don’t come with a pre-determined political image or idea, I can use this platform to create a fresh and well-defined perspective for the party and further their endeavours to have a greater presence and role to play in political affairs.”

He will be touring these states, to coordinate with the party at the grassroots level and understand the dynamics of the states. Mr Singh is a Rajya Sabha MP joined the TMC after obtaining all necessary clearances from the Rajya Sabha in December 2010.
